Brewers go for sweep in Atlanta to close out road trip
The Brewers have already secured a series victory over the mighty Braves, but they’ll look to get the sweep this afternoon. It’s an early game in Atlanta, with first pitch scheduled for 12:20 p.m. local time (11:20 a.m. in Milwaukee).
Frankie Montas is on the hill for the Crew for the second time since being acquired at the trade deadline. In a winning performance against the Nationals last Friday, Montas went five innings, allowing three runs on nine hits and no walks with five strikeouts. His last start with the Reds came against these Braves, as he gave up four runs on 10 hits and three walks with six strikeouts over 4 1⁄3 innings in a no decision on July 24.
Montas will match up against Charlie Morton for the Braves. With a righty on the hill, Brice Turang returns to the leadoff spot at second base, with Jackson Chourio moving into the two-hole. Garrett Mitchell bats third with William Contreras batting fourth as the DH. Sal Frelick rounds out the outfield, with Jake Bauers at first base and Eric Haase at catcher.
First pitch is at 11:20 a.m. on Bally Sports Wisconsin and the Brewers Radio Network.
