The Brewers start a three-game series in Colorado tonight
Following a 5-2 homestand, the Brewers are on the road for a West Coast road trip. They will head to Denver first, opening a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies tonight.
Freddy Peralta is making his third start of the season tonight. He’s been the one stable part of the Brewers’ rotation so far this season. Through two games, he has allowed three runs in 13 innings. He’s picked up 16 strikeouts and has walked just one batter, and his last start was one of his career best, with just one run allowed in eight innings against the Royals. Peralta made one start against the Rockies last season, a six-inning start with two runs allowed (both on solo home runs), along with 10 strikeouts and three walks.
The Brewers will face Kyle Freeland, the Rockies’ Opening Day starter. After pitching six shutout innings against the Rays, he allowed three runs against the Phillies in 6 2⁄3 innings. The Brewers faced Freeland once last season, and he threw six shutout innings in a start in Milwaukee. Freeland has been a thorn in the Brewers’ side over his career, posting a 2.06 ERA in eight career starts against them.
With the lefty on the mound, the Brewers will send out their standard lineup against lefties. The Brewers could use a boost from Coors Field, as they have batted .201/.276/.293 against left-handed pitchers this season. Five batters in the lineup are batting under .200, and two also have an on-base percentage under .200.
Here are the lineups for tonight. First pitch is at 7:40 p.m. on FanDuel Sports Wisconsin and the Brewers Radio Network.
