It’s a rubber match on Wednesday afternoon in Milwaukee
After yesterday’s loss, it’s a rubber match between the Brewers and Braves today. It should be a strikeout-heavy day as both teams are starting pitchers within the top 10 for strikeouts in the league. The Braves have Chris Sale on the mound, while the Brewers will send out Freddy Peralta.
Prior to today’s game, the Brewers made a roster move. They officially added Frankie Montas to the active roster following his acquisition on Monday. To make room for him on the roster, Tyler Jay was optioned back to Triple-A Nashville. Montas will wear #47, with Jared Koenig, his former teammate in Oakland, switching to #35.
The Brewers are continuing to tinker with their lineup, as well as give some of the regulars a day off. Jackson Chourio is back in the leadoff spot with Brice Turang getting a day off. Rhys Hoskins moves up to bat second, and Gary Sanchez is in the cleanup spot with William Contreras also getting a day off. Willy Adames is in his usual No. 4 spot with Joey Ortiz behind him batting fifth. Blake Perkins, Sal Frelick, Eric Haase, and Andruw Monasterio round out the lineup for today.
First pitch is at 1:10 p.m, and will be on Bally Sports Wisconsin and the Brewers Radio Network.
