The Brewers look to bounce back from an action-packed loss
In a wild Saturday matchup, the Brewers’ win streak was broken, but they’ll look to get back to .500 in a Sunday day game against the Reds.
For the series finale, Chad Patrick will make his second start. His last outing proved to be a solid effort, going 4 2⁄3 innings without allowing any runs. He allowed three hits and three walks in that game against the Royals. The righty was stretched to 86 pitches, so the Brewers could hope for some length if Patrick is able to work an efficient outing.
Brice Turang is back in the leadoff spot, playing second base. He’s off to a hot start as he looks to prove he’s capable of maintaining this impressive performance through a whole season. He’s batting .306 with an .805 OPS through the early portion of the season.
He’ll be joined in the infield by Oliver Dunn and Joey Ortiz on the left side of the infield. Jake Bauers is the first baseman today.
In the outfield, Jackson Chourio and Sal Frelick will play the corners with Garrett Mitchell in center field. Frelick is another player, like Turang, who could be a batting-average standout this year. Frelick’s .394 batting average has been a positive sign since he entered the season with added weight.
Eric Haase will be the catcher with William Contreras taking the day off. That leaves Christian Yelich at designated hitter. The Brewers’ haven’t had a dominant start to the season, but if Yelich gets rolling on offense, Milwaukee will start to find their best form.
First pitch is scheduled for 1:10 p.m. The game will be televised on FanDuel Sports Wisconsin and broadcast on the Brewers Radio Network.
