Parker was an All-Star for the Brewers in his lone season in Milwaukee in 1990
The Milwaukee Brewers will have another former player in the Hall of Fame come next summer.
Outfielder Dave Parker, who played one season in Milwaukee back in 1990, was one of two players elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame on this year’s Classic Baseball Era Ballot, joining fellow veteran Dick Allen.
Parker received 14 of 16 votes (87.5%) while Allen received 13 votes (81.3%), surpassing the 12 votes required to be selected. Tommy John finished with seven votes, while Ken Boyer, John Donaldson, Steve Garvey, Vic Harris, and Luis Tiant each received less than five votes.
Parker, now 73, spent the bulk of his career with the Pittsburgh Pirates, hitting .305/.353/.494 with 166 homers, 758 RBIs, 123 steals, and 728 runs across 1,301 games over 11 seasons with the franchise. Playing from 1973-1991, Parker spent his penultimate season with the Brewers, earning an All-Star appearance as he hit .289/.330/.451 with 21 homers, 30 doubles, 92 RBIs, 71 runs, and 176 hits across 157 games, compiling 1.1 bWAR as he primarily served as a DH.

As noted by Adam McCalvy above, Parker becomes the eighth player in Brewers franchise history to make it to the Hall of Fame, joining (in order by year elected) Hank Aaron, Rollie Fingers, Don Sutton, Robin Yount, Paul Molitor, Trevor Hoffman, and Ted Simmons, who became the seventh player in the group back in 2020.
Allen, who passed away in 2020, played from 1963-1977 with the Phillies, Cardinals, Dodgers, White Sox, and A’s. He appeared in 1,749 career games, hitting .292/.378/.534 with 351 homers, 1,119 RBIs, 133 steals, 320 doubles, and 1,099 runs.
Parker and Allen will be inducted in Cooperstown next July along with any players elected by the BBWAA, which will announce results on January 21.
