Injury Notes & Roster Moves
- Aaron Civale: Civale was acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays in a trade on Wednesday morning. Prospect Gregory Barrios, a 20-year-old shortstop, was sent back in the deal. Civale made his Brewers debut on Friday, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks with eight strikeouts in a no-decision.
- Chris Roller, Taylor Clarke, & Owen Miller: Roller, Clarke, and Miller were all designated for assignment and outrighted to Triple-A Nashville in the last week. Roller was DFA’d for Rob Zastryzny, Miller was DFA’d for Garrett Mitchell, and Clarke was DFA’d for Civale. Clarke was the last to clear waivers and be outrighted on Sunday.
- Janson Junk & Vinny Capra: Both Junk and Capra were recalled early last week as Enoli Paredes and Joey Ortiz were placed on the IL. Capra is 1-for-5 across two games thus far, while Junk was optioned back to Triple-A without making an appearance.
- Joey Ortiz & Enoli Paredes: Ortiz, who is enjoying a strong rookie year, was placed on the 10-day IL on Tuesday as he continues to deal with a neck injury. He can return as early as July 12. Paredes was placed on the 15-day IL with right forearm tendinitis — the same injury Jared Koenig is shelved with. His return is still TBD.
- Joe Ross: Ross was sent on a rehab assignment to the High-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Saturday. He went 2 2⁄3 innings with one unearned run allowed on three hits with a strikeout. Pat Murphy said he will pitch at least three times in the minors before making his return to MLB play. He’s been out since May 21 with a low back strain.
