Margot adds depth for Milwaukee in spring training
The Milwaukee Brewers signed outfielder Manuel Margot to a minor league deal Friday afternoon, adding one more player to the outfield depth chart as spring training gets underway with the team’s first game set for tomorrow.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Todd Rosiak reported Margot was seen in the locker room earlier in the day, though Jon Heyman confirmed the deal later in the day.

Margot, 30, will be in major league camp for spring training. A nine-year veteran, Margot spent four years with the Padres, four years with the Rays, and one season with the Twins. He turned in his worst season to date in 2024 with Minnesota, compiling -0.9 bWAR across 129 games as he hit .238/.289/.337 with four homers, 31 RBIs, 37 runs, and five steals.
His 162-game averages come out to .254/.307/.380 with 10 homers (career 56 homers), 55 RBIs (career 314 RBIs), and 62 runs (career 352 runs).
The addition of Margot adds to Milwaukee’s depth in the outfield, with Jackson Chourio, Garrett Mitchell, Sal Frelick, Christian Yelich, and Blake Perkins all seemingly ahead of him. The Brewers also have Isaac Collins and Brewer Hicklen on their 40-man roster.
