Henderson, 23, was a fourth-round pick by the Brewers in 2021 and was added to the 40-man roster this offseason to protect him from the Rule 5 Draft. Ranked as the team’s No. 12 prospect and No. 3 pitching prospect (behind Jacob Misiorowski and Robert Gasser), he made four appearances (one start) this spring for the Brewers, totaling 8 2⁄3 innings with 10 strikeouts and a 4.15 ERA.
After rising from High-A to Triple-A in 2024, he started this season with Nashville and made three starts there, allowing five runs across 14 innings (3.21 ERA) on nine hits and 10 walks with 24 strikeouts.
His first appearance with the Brewers will also mark his MLB debut.
On the other side of the transaction, Rodriguez, 27, struggled in two starts before being moved to the bullpen, where he had a bit more success. After allowing 11 runs across nine innings in two starts, he’s allowed one run (a solo homer) over his last 5 1⁄3 innings in the bullpen, striking out eight. He went five frames in relief last night, doing his job as he allowed the rest of Pat Murphy’s bullpen to get the night off.
He’ll now head to Nashville where he’ll have a chance to join the rotation with Henderson now in a big-league uniform.
